Women’s Softball
Cal State Northridge won the championship of the San Jose State tournament.
The Matadors (10-2) defeated California, 1-0, and Santa Clara, 3-0, and lost to San Jose State, 1-0, to give them a 5-1 record in the two-day, four-team, double round-robin format.
Northridge scored its only run against Cal when Beth Calcante tripled to start the sixth inning and scored on Tamara Ivie’s sacrifice fly.
Jennifer Richardson (3-0) threw a two-hitter and struck out seven in the six-inning victory over Santa Clara.
Women’s Tennis
Cal State Northridge (3-4) defeated Idaho State, 8-1, by sweeping the six singles matches for the first time this season in a nonconference match.
