BOYLE HEIGHTS : Class Offered on Diabetes and Feet
The American Diabetes Assn.’s Latino Programs Committee has scheduled a free class on foot complications associated with the chronic disease and free foot exams from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at USC University Hospital, 1500 San Pablo St.
Podiatrist Michael Vega will talk about the importance of proper foot care.
The Spanish-language program will include a question-and-answer period.
Diabetes impairs the body’s ability to convert sugar into energy and requires lifestyle changes for proper management and control.
If left untreated, it can lead to blindness, amputation, heart attack and stroke.
