8 Hurt as Car Unhitches From Tow Truck
GORMAN — A car being towed by a pickup truck came unhitched on the Golden State Freeway on Wednesday and both vehicles overturned, injuring eight people, two of them critically, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The accident occurred about 2:30 a.m. on the southbound freeway just north of California 138. One of two women critically injured in the accident was pinned inside the Ford pickup.
Two people were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and the other six were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.
