HUNTINGTON BEACH : Chamber Hands Out 4 Annual Awards

The Chamber of Commerce has announced its annual awards, including those for Outstanding Citizen and the Athena award, given for demonstrating support of professional women and the community.

Dale L. Dunn is the Outstanding Citizen of Huntington Beach. The longtime Huntington Beach resident has served as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts, numerous city committees, the American Red Cross, the American Heart Assn. and the YMCA.

Carole Ann Wall, owner of Chamber Newsletter Publishing Co., received the Athena award for “providing unselfish assistance” on behalf of professional women and “providing valuable service to business and the community,” chamber officials said.

David Winscott has been named Chamber Member of the Year for his service in 1993.

Paula Meierle was named the chamber’s Ambassador of the Year for organizing and attending the most chamber events.

“These four people represent outstanding business leaders who volunteer many hours toward community betterment, and the chamber awards them in recognition of their individual accomplishments,” Chamber President Joyce Riddell said.
