TORRANCE : Search Continues for Jewelry Mart Robbers
A search continued Wednesday for three men who robbed merchants in Torrance of an estimated $350,000 worth of jewelry.
Torrance Police Sgt. Mike Paolozzi said the three gunmen--dressed in Army fatigues and wearing masks--sneaked into the Torrance Jewelry Mart at the Torrance Promenade shopping center at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and forced employees to open several safes.
After ordering the employees to the floor, the robbers scooped up the jewelry, Paolozzi said. By the time police responded to a silent alarm the robbers had fled, detectives said.
