CLAREMONT : Serial Rapist’s Parole Revoked as Expected

Convicted serial rapist Christopher Hubbart’s parole was revoked as expected Monday after a Department of Corrections hearing.

Hubbart, who has been in and out of prison since 1973, recently caused a furor in Claremont, where he was scheduled to be paroled in March. Residents protested when it was learned that he planned to return to his parents’ home there.

Hubbart failed a psychiatric examination on the day he was to be paroled, however, and was returned to prison in Chino pending Monday’s revocation hearing. The decision Monday was based on reports and testimony by Parole Hearings Division staff and an evaluating psychiatrist.

Hubbart’s parole was revoked for a year, and he will be returned to prison to receive psychiatric treatment that cannot be provided within the community, said Bill Gengler, a corrections spokesman.
