To say that Brazilians are not enamored of Colombians is an understatement. This, from Jose Simao, a columnist in Sao Paulo:
“The Colombian fans? They’re hilarious. Everyone’s got a yellow wig like (Colombian midfielder Carlos) Valderrama, everyone’s got a face like bozo. I went down the final minutes of the game (against the United States) to the hotel bar. Two televisions were on. The gringos were applauding. I thought, ‘They’re applauding the victory over Colombia.’ Nope. They were applauding the basketball game that was on the television behind me.”
