COVINA: Baldwin Park police officers chased suspects in a gang-related shooting Sunday through the streets of Covina, where the pursuit ended when the suspects crashed their Ford Probe into another car, driven by an LAPD officer, which then hit a pedestrian. John Duarte 29, and Frank Porcho, 21, both of Baldwin Park, were arrested and taken to Covina City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and felony hit-and-run charges.

LA PUENTE: A 29-year-old La Puente man was fatally shot Saturday night in front of his home in the 500 block of League Avenue. Johnny Hernandez Lopez was shot once in the upper torso and was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, where he died about 40 minutes after the 11 p.m. shooting, sheriff’s deputies said. Deputies said they believe the shooting is gang-related but have no motive and no suspects.

PASADENA: A 17-year-old Altadena resident was shot to death Friday at a party in Northwest Pasadena. Anthony Wells, a known gang member, was shot in the 1300 block of Glen Avenue at about 11:30 p.m., police said. Wells was hit in the leg and head and died at the scene.
