Promise Keepers
The goal of Promise Keepers is “to strengthen the family and restore the nation by exhorting men to become ‘promise keepers instead of promise breakers’ ” (“Teaching Patriarchs to Lead,” June 19). If men in America decide to make their families their highest priority, according to critics, we now must fear that this will lead to political activism. Apparently, political activism is acceptable only within the framework of the liberal agenda. If Christian men decide to exercise their constitutional right to participate in the local or national political arena, something sinister is afoot.
California just had an embarrassingly low turnout for a primary election. I hope more men take the message of Promise Keepers to heart. Perhaps then we can slow the moral decline of our nation.
