Kohler Resigns at Laguna Beach
Jerry Kohler has resigned as the Laguna Beach baseball coach, he announced Wednesday.
Kohler, a walk-on, said he resigned to spend more time with his family, but added that he was unhappy with the program’s direction. The team was 6-17, 2-13 and last in the Pacific Coast League, in Kohler’s only season.
“The kids were great, but the administration was non-supportive at best,” he said.
Principal Barbara Callard said she disagreed with Kohler’s assessment.
“All of the administration does everything it can to support the athletic program,” Callard said.
