CERRITOS : Speed Limit Reduced on Bloomfield Avenue
The speed limit on a stretch of Bloomfield Avenue from 166th Street to Alondra Boulevard will be reduced to 40 m.p.h. from 45 m.p.h. on Aug. 7 in response to residents’ complaints that fast-moving trucks are making too much noise as they rumble through the neighborhood.
The stretch is a truck route that bisects the city’s industrial area, making it a busy thoroughfare for vehicles traveling toward Santa Fe Springs, said Public Works Director Vince Brar. The speed limit is 40 m.p.h. along the rest of Bloomfield in the city, he said.
