Residents Applaud Victoria Care Center
Victoria Care Center is our home. The article your paper printed on Aug. 4 hurt us because we know Victoria Care has become a very good place to live. You printed the old, bad news and left out the current, good news.
The article took most of its information from a 1992 and an only-now-released 1993 report by a biased advocacy group in San Francisco. We’re now eight months into 1994.
Those San Francisco people never came here to find out what’s going on now. They never talked to us or our families or our staff. Your reporter was invited but didn’t come here to get the current story either. This is our home. We know what’s going on here. You should have asked us.
Since they signed on last September, our new administration has hired and trained an almost entirely new staff, and everyone has been working their socks off these last 11 months to turn things around at Victoria Care. They’ve succeeded.

We have three family members currently cared for at Victoria Care Center.
You may have done an injustice to the new management. We visit Victoria daily, and believe me, we know about care centers.
