SIMI VALLEY : City’s Youth Council Seeking Applicants
Simi Valley teen-agers old enough to be concerned about city government but too young to vote can get a piece of the political action by joining the city’s Youth Council.
The Youth Council, an advisory panel to the City Council, tackles youth-related concerns and participates in community events.
The 24-member council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Community Room, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
Each month a youth council member attends a City Council meeting to report on Youth Council projects.
The yearlong terms begin Nov. 1. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 26. Application forms are available at City Hall, the Simi Valley Library and at junior and senior high schools in the city.
For information, call program coordinator Sandra Thompson at 522-4473.
