Barbecue, Concert to Benefit Charity for Foster Children
A charity that helps Orange County foster children and foster parents will be the beneficiary of “Home on the Range,” a country-style barbecue with musical entertainment.
The fund-raiser will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Tara-like Crean mansion in Santa Ana Heights.
Activities will include a silent auction, line dancing and live country-Western music by Chris Singer and the Out on Bail band.
Proceeds from the event will support ARK, Services for Abused Children. This Orange-based nonprofit organization assists foster children who have been abused, abandoned or born addicted to drugs. Among the free services provided are child care, field trips, tutoring, psychological counseling, and monitored visits between the children and their biological family members.
The charity was granted a Point of Light Award by President George Bush in 1991.
Admission to the “Home on the Range” benefit is $75 per person. Reservations are available by calling ARK at (714) 978-0340.
