Meetings Will Address Quake Damage
SHERMAN OAKS — The Community Redevelopment Agency will hold two meetings to discuss a plan to repair earthquake damage in Sherman Oaks and Studio City.
The Los Angeles City Council asked CRA officials to assist residents in rebuilding homes and businesses damaged by the Jan. 17 earthquake.
CRA officials, working with the 5th Council District and community representatives, devised an earthquake disaster assistance plan that would allow the communities to redevelop earthquake damaged areas in a five-year program.
The first meeting will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Millikan Junior High School in Sherman Oaks. The next meeting is on Oct. 26 at the same time and place.
CRA commissioners will also hold a joint public hearing on the proposed plan Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
