HTP Announces Changer System Holding 120 CDs
HTP International said Monday that it has unveiled a 120-compact disc changer system. A 90-disc expansion system will be available by January, 1995.
Chairman Paul Safronchik said his company’s new CD changer sets a standard in the industry. Currently, several competitors have components that allow consumers to store and choose as many as 100 CD titles.
Additionally, the system recognizes the name of the artist, title of the CD, and song titles without requiring the owner to input that information for each CD.
During a limited introduction phase, the changer will sell for $1,000 to $2,000. Safronchik said the price will drop to well below $1,000 once it is available in consumer electronics outlets.
