Coldwell, IBM Forge Alliance to Help Workers Relocate
MISSION VIEJO — Coldwell Banker Relocation Services said Monday it will form an alliance with IBM Corp. to offer expanded services for companies sending employees overseas.
A subsidiary of Coldwell Banker Corp., the national realty company based in Mission Viejo, the firm will help relocating workers sell existing homes; find residences near a new workplace; move possessions, and process expenses and paperwork related to a move.
“Through this partnership with IBM, we get the benefits of their international relocation expertise, which can be added to our already extensive relocation practice,” said Stephen C. Roney, president of Coldwell Banker Relocation Services, which sold or purchased $4.2 billion worth of real estate last year.
IBM, which has handled 20,000 overseas relocations in 20 years, will provide the operation with expertise in human resources services such as cultural orientation and overseas payment and compensation.
An IBM subsidiary, Integrated Systems Solutions Corp., will provide the alliance with information technology.
Coldwell Banker Relocation Services manages employee relocations for about 400 corporations. The parent company, Coldwell Banker Corp., has 2,300 real estate offices with 53,000 sales associates and employees in North America.
