ORANGE COUNTY
Reno Air Starts Service: Reno Air will become the second discount airline to fly out of Orange County’s John Wayne Airport on Tuesday when it starts five daily round-trip flights to San Jose. The carrier will add a daily nonstop to Reno on Thursday. The airline is taking over San Jose service from American Airlines, which is dropping shorter routes to concentrate on longer ones. The two airlines have a marketing agreement. Reno Air will compete against the airport’s only other discount carrier, Southwest Airlines, on the San Jose route.
