FULLERTON : Flory, Bankhead Win Police PAC Backing
The Political Action Committee of the Fullerton Police Officer’s Assn. has announced its endorsement of two City Council candidates in the Nov. 8 election.
Sgt. Danny Becerra said the committee chose to endorse Councilwoman Jan M. Flory and former Councilman Don Bankhead, who recently was forced to leave office after a recall election.
The committee had sent out a questionnaire to all candidates and interviewed the few who responded, Becerra said.
“The basis for our endorsement is we felt (Bankhead and Flory) best represent the interests of the Police Department,” he said.
Bankhead, 62, is a retired police captain who worked for the Fullerton Police Department for more than 31 years. Flory, 50, is an attorney.
Other candidates still in the race are: Jack Dean, 46; incumbent Conrad Dewitte, 46; Bob McNutt, 50; Michael J. Mummert, 35; Gary Nouskajian, 43; Edith O’Donnell, 65; Stuart Stitch, 25; James J. Tanaka, 37, and Carole E. Wink, 55.
Dick Logemann, Leland C. Wilson, Bahia E. Wilson and Michael J. Wagner have withdrawn from the race.
