St. Francis Wins Mission Cross-Country Title
LA CRESCENTA — Juniors Kevin Koeper and Andy Van Orden placed first and second to pace the St. Francis High boys’ cross-country team to victory in the Mission League finals at Crescenta Valley Park on Friday.
Koeper timed 15 minutes 48 seconds over the three-mile course to tie the school record set by Froylan Sanchez in 1992. Van Orden (16:17) was one of five Golden Knights to place among the top nine finishers. St. Francis won with 22 points. Loyola was second with 42, followed by Notre Dame (95) and Alemany (115).
Louisville junior Shalluin Fullove won the girls’ race in 19:15. Flintridge Sacred Heart placed first with 57 points, followed by Louisville (66), Chaminade (70), Harvard-Westlake (96) and Notre Dame (97).
