Phebus, Top Players Advance in Regional
The seven top-seeded singles players, including No. 1 Keri Phebus of UCLA, advanced to the second round of the Rolex ITA Southern California women’s tennis regional Thursday at UC Irvine.
Phebus beat Amelia White of UC Santa Barbara, 6-1, 6-1. UC Irvine’s Nina Basica lost to Arizona’s Betsy Miringoff, 6-4, 6-2. Thursday’s doubles matches were postponed until today because of rain.
