Export-Import Bank Announces Latin America Loans: The U.S. Export-Import Bank loaned $5.2 billion this fiscal year for energy and telecommunications projects in Latin America. Projects in Brazil received the most support from the bank, at $1.8 billion. Work included a $1.3-billion loan for an environmental surveillance program using equipment from Lexington, Mass.-based Raytheon Co. Mexico received $1.4 billion in loans and insurance, including $28.7 million to back the sale of telephone switching equipment by AT&T; Corp. to Telefonos de Mexico. The Washington-based bank also provided $1.9 billion in financing in Eastern and Central Europe in fiscal 1994, including $978 million to Russia.
