OUTLOOK
The Tillers’ run toward the Southern Section Division II-A title ended in the semifinals, 70-35, against runner-up Compton Dominguez. Tustin’s drive this season might go even farther. With four starters and six lettermen back from the Sea View League championship team, Tustin should be among the county’s--and the Southland’s--best again. Gottlieb runs the show; there aren’t many better at this level. The Notre Dame-bound Gottlieb averaged 18 points and 8.1 assists in being selected all-county by The Times. David Lalazarian (14 points) benefits from Gottlieb’s presence but has a nice shooting touch and solid instincts of his own. Ground is excited about Griffin, a gunner with incredible range who excelled for the junior varsity last season (24 points). “We should be able to play eight or nine,” Ground said, “with no drop off in ability.”
