Schools: Student Wins $500 Sea Grant
A Westside student has been named one of the first Marine Scholars in a program administered by USC to conduct research in marine biology.
Marymount High School student Anne de la Cruz was one of two high school students selected for a $500 grant in USC’s Sea Grant Program. De la Cruz will research the regenerative abilities of the brittle star species and the adverse effects it suffers from water contamination.
De la Cruz was selected based on research proposals submitted to the Southern California Academy of Sciences Research Training Program.
