WORLD IN BRIEF : ROMANIA : Convicted Baby Smugglers Go Home

A British couple sentenced to prison for trying to smuggle a Romanian baby out of the country left for home, four months after their arrest. Adrian and Bernadette Mooney were arrested in July as they tried to smuggle a 5-month-old girl across the Romanian-Hungarian border. They were subsequently sentenced to 28 months in prison. A Bucharest court overturned the prison sentences Nov. 16, passed a suspended sentence and ordered the couple out of the country.
