ROUNDUP : Lee Leads the Way for North Hollywood
Arthur Lee had 26 points and eight rebounds to lead North Hollywood High to an 87-59 victory over Littlerock on Tuesday at Royal High in the first round of the Simi Valley tournament.
Lee, who has signed with Stanford, made eight of 16 shots and nine of 10 free throws. He made one of three three-pointers.
Hamilton 113, Monroe 103--Tim Johnson scored 25 points and Shaka Stiner added 24 but it wasn’t enough for the Vikings at Hamilton.
Birmingham 61, Reseda 40--Scott James scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half for the Braves. Sophomore David Redmond came off the bench to score 12 points for Birmingham and Mark Ellis scored all nine of his points in the second half.
Los Angeles 61, Cleveland 49--Eric Bible scored 13 points in defeat for the Cavaliers.
Chatsworth 81, Poly 49--Senior swingman Tariq Hill scored 21 points to lead the Chancellors. Eddie Miller added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Chatsworth.
Montclair Prep 65, La Sierra 52--Reed Berglund scored 15 of his 27 points in the third quarter as the Mounties outscored La Sierra, 25-7. Carlos Roubicek added 15 points and 14 rebounds.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
North Hollywood 49, Hoover 25--Anna Celaya had 25 points, including five three-pointers for the Huskies. Samantha Fargeon added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Taft 66, Canoga Park 23--Nyoki McKeith scored 19 points and had seven assists, and Vanessa Dunn had 18 rebounds for the Toreadors.
Kennedy 58, Palisades 53--Jelani Janisse scored 23 points for the Golden Cougars at Palisades.
Notre Dame 55, Littlerock 32--Maggie Dixon had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four steals for the Knights. Carla Arrue added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Alemany 68, Village Christian 63--Samantha Rigley had 28 points and eight rebounds, and Carly Funicello added 16 points and seven rebounds for Alemany.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Santa Monica 75, Antelope Valley 41--Issia Lincoln scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Corsairs (2-3) at Antelope Valley.
