UCLA Women Beat San Diego, 83-73
Kisa Hughes recorded 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to lead UCLA to an 83-73 victory over San Diego in front of 345 Thursday night at San Diego.
Nikki Hilbert and Kellie Bennett scored 15 points apiece for the Bruins (2-2). Zrinka Kristich scored 14 points.
Michele Brovelli scored a career-high 21 points for San Diego (1-4). Vicki de Jesus scored 13 points and Michol Murray added 12.
The Toreros, who trailed, 45-42, at halftime, pulled into a 63-63 tie on Laura King’s basket with 8:05 to play.
However, UCLA took the lead for good on a layup by Hilbert with 7:47 remaining.
