ANAHEIM : Council Plans to Study Curbs on Yard Sales
The City Council will consider two different ordinances to regulate garage and yard sales Tuesday.
The first proposal would limit such sales to three times a year, at the discretion of the resident holding the event. The other proposal would restrict sales to the first weekends in February, June and October of each year.
The council, which may not pass either proposal, has discussed putting restrictions on the sales at its three previous meetings.
Some council members have complained the sales are becoming overly commercial and are causing too much noise and traffic in neighborhoods.
The sales are already prohibited under Anaheim’s zoning code, but the code is rarely enforced, officials said.
