CAMARILLO : Suggestions Sought for Jobs Program
In an attempt to develop a program to help high school students be better prepared for the job market, state and county officials will hold a public hearing Tuesday in Camarillo.
During the forum--sponsored by the Job Training Policy Council of Ventura County--students, educators, parents, business and community leaders are invited to comment and make recommendations.
The local forum is part of an initiative by the Department of Labor that aims to assist students who want to enter the job market after high school.
Suggestions presented during the public hearing will be submitted to a state task force known as California’s School-to-Career Plan. Members of the task force will review the suggestions and find ways to implement them.
Officials recommend that those interested in participating in the public hearing read a report prepared by the task force. To obtain a copy of the report, call 388-4421.
The public hearing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the James F. Cowan Conference Building, 570 Airport Way in Camarillo.
