HUNTINGTON PARK : Festival to Honor Martin Luther King
A business group is sponsoring a carnival with 16 rides, including a 100-foot sky wheel and bumper cars, today and Monday as part of a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
The Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce will organize the festival, which will be at the corner of Florence Avenue and Mountain View. Aside from honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is Monday, the carnival will also help raise money to defray the $10,000 cost of presenting Huntington Park’s 45th Christmas Parade.
The chamber expects to raise $4,000 to $6,000 with the carnival, said Executive Director Dante D’Eramo.
Carnival hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday and 1 to 10 p.m. on Monday.
