Washington 3, Tampa Bay 0--Undefeated rookie goaltender Jim Carey made 16 saves in his first career shutout as the Capitals defeated the Lightning at St. Petersburg, Fla. Michal Pivonka, Sylvain Cote and Dale Hunter scored for the Capitals, who are undefeated in their last seven games.
Dallas 4, Chicago 2--Goaltender Andy Moog withstood a 46-shot barrage and Dave Gagner snapped a 2-2 tie on a power-play goal with 9:04 remaining as the Stars beat the Blackhawks in Chicago.
