MALIBU : 2 More Houses Deemed Unsafe After Landslides
Two more houses in the Malibu area have been pronounced unsafe for occupancy after sustaining severe damage in landslides, bringing to five the number of houses red-tagged in the wake of the March 10 rain storm.
Donna Guyovich, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, said slides destroyed one house in Topanga Canyon on Grandview Drive, a known slide area, and severely damaged another in the Rambla Pacifico slide area just outside Malibu’s city limits.
Three other houses were red-tagged on March 13--two in the Rambla Pacifico area and another in Malibu on Pena Creek above Pacific Coast Highway.
