In Brief
* 1/2 Adina Howard, “Do You Wanna Ride?,” Mecca Don/EastWest. Though Salt-N-Pepa have proved that raunchiness can be fun, Howard’s music--with its in-your-face brand of sexuality--isn’t. A song like “You Can Be My Nigga” isn’t nearly as entertaining as it would need to be to compensate for that title. Surely this can’t be what’s meant by “do-me” feminism.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (essential).
