SIGNE NOT SHELLEY

In James Grant’s April 9 article on dishing the dirt with Shelley Winters, some of the facts splashed the wrong way. In the 1947 film “A Double Life,” it was Signe Hasso who co-starred as Ronald Colman’s Desdemona. Winters played the smaller part of a waitress--and did a good job.

Signe Hasso, by the way, is very much alive, gorgeous and living in Los Angeles. She spends her time writing (books, poetry, songs). For whatever reason, producers and directors fail to avail themselves of the powerhouse of talent she is.
