Thorn EMI Denies Rumors of Sale: The London-based company said it is not in talks with a third party regarding the sale of its EMI Music business, either as an entire entity or in parts. In a brief statement, Thorn said that it has no intention of participating such discussions. The London Stock Exchange declared Thorn shares indicative, meaning that prices quoted by market makers are not firm until the company makes an official statement. Last week, Thorn EMI made the same denial to APDJ World Equities Report after rumors began circulating that a sale of its music arm to Walt Disney Co. was in the works. Thorn EMI’s shares had risen last week on the rumor but had been steady earlier this week.
