Doctor Identified as Crash Victim
A Moorpark physician has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred Tuesday evening, Ventura County coroner’s officials said Wednesday.
Mukarram Hussain, 43, who recently opened a medical practice in Oxnard, was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the emergency room at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, investigators said.
The California Highway Patrol said Hussain was traveling eastbound on the Simi Valley Freeway near Hitch Boulevard about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his car and spun into the westbound lane.
Hussain’s car struck a vehicle driven by Richard Suenaga of Camarillo, who suffered minor injuries in the collision. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the CHP said.
The victim is survived by his wife, Shakeela Hussain, who is a physician in a Camarillo clinic, and several children, Senior Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said.
