In Empire League semifinals:
Hollenbeck wins in upset--In singles, Loara’s Bryan Hollenbeck upset top-seeded Tunde Osunsanmi of El Dorado, 6-4, 6-4. Loara’s James Pai, last season’s second-place finisher, defeated El Dorado’s Ali Kermani, 6-2, 6-4. In doubles, Mike Kim and Mike Lee advanced to the finals with a 6-4, 6-4 victory for Loara and Tim Wing and Bryen Woo from Cypress also advanced, winning, 6-4, 7-6.
In Freeway League finals:
Sunny Hills sweeps singles, doubles--Joseph Gilbert of Sunny Hills won the individual singles title over teammate John Han, who retired with muscle spasms trailing, 6-3, 4-0.
Lancers Jeff Hartl and Shaun Harris won the doubles title with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Davis Lee and Tuji Chang, also of Sunny Hills.
In Orange League finals:
Valencia wins singles, doubles title--Chris Tobolski of Valencia defeated Brea Olinda’s Madhiv Boddula, 6-4, 6-4, to win the individual singles title. Valencia’s Andrew Lai and Dennis Ho won the doubles title with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
In Pacific Coast League individual finals:
West takes title--Laguna Beach’s Elliott West won the league championship with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over University’s Chris Seid. In doubles, Min Lee and Felix Ling from University defeated Laguna Hills’ Kevin Arnold and Dennis Harper, 6-2, 6-4, for the league title.
