Man Critically Hurt as Bus, Truck Collide
An unlicensed driver slammed his bus into a pickup truck in Oxnard, dragging the vehicle for several feet before coming to a stop, police said.
The truck driver was reported in critical condition Monday.
Carlos Anguiano, 45, of Santa Ana was driving his bus southbound on Rose Avenue on Sunday night when a pickup truck driving in the opposite direction made a left turn in front of his vehicle.
The bus hit the truck broadside and carried it for a short distance before stopping, police said.
Anguiano was taken to Oxnard Police Department headquarters, where he was cited for driving without a license.
The driver of the pickup truck, whose full name was still not known to police Monday night, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center with major head and internal injuries, police said.
