In a Division III wild-card game:

Bellflower Mayfair 4, Pacifica 0--John Ames had two hits for Pacifica (14-11).

In Division II badminton:

Magnolia 10, Covina Gladstone 9--Boris Chung was undefeated as Magnolia (12-5) upset fourth-seeded Covina Gladstone in the first round. Chung won in mixed doubles with partner Sandy Tran, 15-10, 15-12, and won in singles, 15-10, 3-1 and 15-9, 3-2.

Bolsa Grande 13, Sunny Hills 6--In boys’ singles Tong Ta won both his matches for Bolsa Grande, 15-10, 15-8 and 15-10, 15-10.

Loara 18, City of Industry Workman 1--Tri Diep and Amanda Hofstetter swept their mixed doubles match, 15-10, 15-5 for Loara. Diep won his singles matches, 15-8, 15-2 and 15-0, 15-0. Hofstetter also won in singles, 11-0, 11-1 and 3-11, 11-1, 11-8.
