SAN FERNANDO : High School Gears Up for 100th Anniversary
In preparation for its 100th anniversary celebration in June next year, San Fernando High School is seeking school-related materials and information from alumni and friends or family of those who attended the school.
Organizers have already formed a centennial committee and delegated fund-raising, research and communication responsibilities among members.
The anniversary celebration will begin in June, 1996, and last all year, said Diane Velarde-Hernandez, an alumnus and teacher at the school.
Although final plans have not been set, “each month of the centennial will focus on a different decade,” Velarde-Hernandez said.
To help document the school’s history, the committee is seeking donations or loans of old yearbooks, school papers and other memorabilia.
For information, contact the Centennial Committee at San Fernando High School, P.O. Box 32, San Fernando 91341.
