FASHION : Runway Wild

This is the season when students from fashion colleges around Los Angeles send four years’ worth of hard work down the runway. Some of the designs presented by students of the American College for the Applied Arts annual fashion show and graduation ball, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last week, were more silly than salable. But aspiring designers need a chance to let their imaginations run wild--before the realities of cost and wearability enter the picture.
