CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECT: Choreographers Ginger Thatcher and Todd Williams of New York City, Trey McIntyre of Houston and Lucinda Hughey of Montreal have been chosen from among 25 applicants to create works for Ballet Pacifica during its fifth annual Pacifica Choreographic Project, July 12-29.
Thatcher has danced with the Cleveland Ballet and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company and assisted choreographers on several Broadway shows. Williams has danced with the New York City Ballet and created work for that troupe’s choreography workshop.
McIntyre has danced with and choreographed for the Houston Ballet and was recently named its choreographic associate. He also has choreographed for New York City Ballet. Hughey danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet and choreographed for that troupe and the Pennsylvania and Boston Ballet troupes.
The four were chosen by Molly Lynch, the Costa Mesa-based company’s artistic director. The Ballet Pacifica project will culminate in a performance of the new works at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa on July 29. (714) 642-9275.
