Orange County Almanac
Flower Park is one of Santa Ana’s oldest neighborhoods.
The district is bounded by Civic Center Drive, 1st Street, Shelton Street and Bristol Street. It was settled in the 1880s and 1890s.
The area includes some 1880s Victorian houses as well as California Craftsman bungalows built in the mid-1920s. Almost all homes in the neighborhood were constructed before 1950.
Years of mining at a brickyard in Flower Park left a substantial depression in the ground.
When the brickyard was torn down, Eddie West Field was built in its place.
