Nation IN BRIEF : OKLAHOMA : Nichols Granted Some Cell Privacy
A federal judge lifted some restrictions on the living conditions of bombing suspect Terry L. Nichols, 40, who is charged in the April 19 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building that killed 168 and wounded hundreds. U.S. District Judge David Russell issued a court order allowing Nichols to have a surveillance camera in his cell turned off for four hours each day so he can review and prepare materials pertaining to his defense. His attorneys will be able to give him materials such as books, transcripts and court orders that relate to his case, the order says.
