This album, also part of Nashboro’s ambitious reissue program, is a marvel. The chief lure: a gritty, impassioned singer named Robert Lee (Little Sugar) Hightower, who combines the soulful innocence of Frankie Lymon and the fury of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Amazing stuff.
