Valleywide : Volunteering Opportunities

The following organizations need volunteers:

* J.V.S.-Career Transitions, 6429 Independence Ave., Woodland Hills, which provides job postings, career and vocational counseling, needs a volunteer to assist in data entry beginning in late July. * The San Fernando Valley Girl Scouts need volunteers, especially bilingual and multicultural, to help train other recruits to be Girl Scout leaders. Hours are varied and flexible. For information, call Margery Greene at (818) 886-1801.

* Goodwill Industries of Southern California needs an experienced, bilingual Spanish teacher to instruct administrative staff in basic conversational English two evenings a week. * The San Fernando Recreation and Community Services Department needs volunteers to teach classes such as ballroom dancing, cooking, toddler classes and golf. For more information, call (818) 898-1290. Applicants must fill out a form and draw up a class proposal.
