Man, 38, Fatally Shot in Motor Home
The body of a man who had been shot to death was found Sunday morning inside a motor home parked in a Northridge neighborhood, Los Angeles police said.
Residents in the 19100 block of Malden Street found the 38-year-old man just before 10 a.m., police said.
The motor home had been parked in front of John and Bonnie Scamaldo’s home for the past few months and belonged to Bonnie’s brother, said a neighbor. The Scamaldos have lived there for 30 years, and the brother was a frequent visitor, he said.
The neighbor said he told detectives he heard a single gunshot between 10 and 11 p.m. Saturday but didn’t investigate it.
The name of the victim, who had been shot in the upper torso, was being withheld pending notification of relatives. Police said he had moved recently to Los Angeles from Missouri.
Los Angeles homicide detectives are investigating the case.
