‘Exposure’ Fan

I enjoyed Lee Margulies’ commentary “Gracefully Accepting the End of ‘Northern Exposure’ ” (Calendar, July 26). After watching the last episode, I have to admit, I cried during the final montage. Beautiful music, the town of Cicely fading away, one last shot of Maggie, Maurice, Chris and all the others--man, my heart was breaking, it was like I was saying goodby to close personal friends, real friends. Strange thing is, I still feel sad today.

CBS is making a big mistake. There are a lot of people like myself who just recently discovered this show through syndicated reruns, and would have become loyal viewers, if given the chance. Like most beautiful dreams, “Northern Exposure” ended too soon, but hey, what a trip!
