This hidden Nisei gem has flourished for almost 65 years in West Los Angeles. It was created in 1931 by Japanese immigrants who presented the gift “to the public for the promotion of better understanding.” In this oasis of tranquillity, a lantern carved from granite and sandstone boulders are shaded by Sago palms, Japanese yew and maple, coral and pepper trees.
