Clinton to Attend Pantages Fund-Raiser
President Clinton will attend the Concert of Hope on Oct. 16 at the Pantages Theater benefiting the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, the center announced Friday.
Center President Joseph A. Califano Jr. said Clinton will help honor former First Lady Betty Ford, founder of the recovery clinic named after her in Palm Springs, and the late Walt Disney President Frank G. Wells, who helped define the mission of the center.
Singer Tony Bennett will headline the entertainment at the benefit, which will be taped by CBS for broadcast on Dec. 1. On that date, hundreds of community groups around the country are planning to gather for the broadcast and present awards to local individuals who have distinguished themselves in the fight against substance abuse, Califano said.
Ticket information for the Concert of Hope is available at (310) 201-5033.
